Life of the Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him)
The Life of Muhammad (pbuh) introduces the Makkan period of the life of the Prophet Muhammad – the final Messenger of Allah and the greatest human being to walk on the face of the earth.
In these talks, Imam Anwar al-Awlaki, author of the best selling series - The Lives of the Prophets, eloquently presents the Makkan period of the Prophet’s life in a detailed manner, deriving valuable lessons from it and thus making it relevant to our modern times.
This series is primarily based on Ibn Kathir’s book on the Sirah. Imam Awlaki brings to life stories from the golden era of Islam in a dynamic style and instils in the listeners a deep love for the Beloved of Allah.
This series is brought to you courtesy of Awakening Media and would be broadcast twice daily inshallah.
Lives of the Prophets (Peace Be Upon Them All)
The Prophets of Allah are the greatest men that ever lived. They are the role models for humanity. Their hearts were the purest, their minds were the wisest, and their deeds were the most righteous. But a lot of what is narrated about them is fact mixed with fiction. Neither the Bible nor historical works provide a reliable account of these great men. The myths surrounding the lives of the prophets have even spilled over to some Muslim history books. So then, where can we learn about the Prophets of Allah? The truth about them is learned through the Quran and Hadith.
"The Lives of the Prophets" is a series of lectures delivered by Anwar Al-Awlaki. It is the first such series produced in the English language. The author has done extensive research in the original Arabic resources. The series is based primarily on Ibn Kathir’s " Al-Bidayah wa-nihayah (The Beginning and the End)". Br. Al-Awlaki has done an excellent job of relying almost completely on the Quran, Hadith and statements of the Noble Companions.
This series is brought to you courtesy of Al Basheer and would be broadcast twice daily inshallah.

Muhammad Sedeeq Al-Menshawe Recites the Qur’an very clearly and plainly allowing his young students to emulate the recital short verse at a time. Recite along with the students to learn the surahs or to just improve upon the recitation. An excellent way to learn the Holy Book!
When the month of Ramadan begins, Muslims enter into a period of discipline and worship: fasting during the day, and praying throughout the day and night. During Ramadan, special evening prayers are conducted during which long portions of the Qur'an are recited. These special prayers are known as taraweeh.
It is recommended that Muslims attend the taraweeh prayers in the mosque (after 'Isha, the last evening prayer), to pray in congregation. This is true for both men and women. However, one may also perform the prayers individually at home. These prayers are voluntary, but are strongly recommended and widely practiced.
So whilst the Imams are in the Masjids leading the congregations in the taraweeh prayers, we will be broadcasting the Taraweeh prayers from Hendon Mosque & Islamic Centre. For those that are unable to attend the masjid, there is still to opportunity to listen and contemplate. ( Ramadan Time Only)
